- Comprehensive study of the science of statistics for use at a university lecture course by Zizius, professor of economics and statistics at Vienna university. After some initial comments on the use of statistics in political economy, he gives a thorough survey of methods within statistics and its most important proponents. Moreover, he points to the importance of personal research, and independent gathering of figures. He presents a detailed outline of the relevant data to be collected for a meaningful description of a state's geographical, demographical and economical position.
- Most importantly he includes a comprehensive history of the science and teaching of statistics, discussing all the most important representatives, and concludes with an extensive bibliography of relevant contributions, listing some five hundred titles under different headings. Throughout the work, it is clear that Zizius is fully aware of his European
contemporaries and cites French, English and Italian authors.

- Report of the second industrial exhibition held in Calvados, following on
from an earlier one, which was apparently held in 1803. This was certainly one of the earliest
provincial exhibitions in France, with the first Paris ones starting from 1798.
- Similar to the Paris reports, much emphasis is put on the appointment of the jury to judge the exhibited objects and make awards, i.e. give gold or silver medals. A number of gold medals are given for improvements in the textile industry, including lace-making. Tobacco manufacture, porcelain and musical instruments are also distinguished. In his Discours, Lair stresses the publicity value of such exhibitions, as they publicise new inventions and
improvements, and serve as an incentive for further developments.
- The report is compiled by Pierre-Aimé Lair (1769-1853), local agronomist, member of the Caen academy and author of numerous economic and pseudo-scientific articles, amongst them one on spontaneous combustion Essai sur les combustions humaines, 1800.

- Very rare first edition of the statistics of the Napoleonic model state of Westphalia. The Kingdom of Westphalia had been created after the treatise of Tilsit in 1807 with Napoleon's brother Jérome as king. Bail's fundamental analysis of the population, trade, economy, administration and taxation of Westphalia was intended to be the scientific basis of the administration of this short-lived Napoleonic creation. In the final 27 pages Bail deals with the administration, economy and military strength of the enemy state of Prussia.
