The internationally-refereed journal, Accounting, Business & Financial History is pleased to announce its sponsorship of a workshop to be held at the University of Sydney.
The subject of the University of Sydney workshop will be: - `History of Finance and Financial Institutions in the Asia-Pacific Rim'. The Asia-Pacific Rim is the home to the most diverse and fastest growing financial systems in the world. The papers must be historically informed.
- Banks, insurance and developing economies
- The role of government regulation
- Private vs. State banking systems
- The management of financial institutions
- The development of financial markets including derivatives and bonds
- The role of foreign banks etc. etc.
All papers presented at the symposium will be considered for publication in a special edition of Accounting, Business and Financial History to
appear in due course. The local organizers would welcome expressions of interest from anyone thinking of offering a paper for the workshop. The
deadline for submission of full papers, which must be written in English, is 31 August 2006. It is anticipated that the final selection of papers
for the workshop will be made by the middle of October 2006, with authors being contacted as soon as possible after this time with respect to
acceptance or otherwise of their paper.
